Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stelio Kontos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kobe Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kontos kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Stelio. Bryant has chosen Kobe Bryant as his entrance music. Kobe Bryant is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kobe Bryant! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kontos staying out of range there. Kontos throws a low kick but Bryant avoids it. Bryant tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kontos was well out of range. Poor timing from Bryant. Bryant tries to clinch but Kontos moves out of range. Bryant fails with a takedown attempt. Bryant shoots in but Kontos avoids the takedown attempt easily. Bryant will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stelio Kontos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kobe Bryant. Kontos throws a head kick but Bryant moves out of range.

Kontos throws a leg kick and Bryant counters with a head kick. That will keep Kontos thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! A head kick by Kontos misses and Bryant counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Kontos!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bryant looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Bryant can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kontos is looking to escape. Kontos can't escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kontos is working hard here to advance position. Bryant is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kontos to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kontos shrugs it off. Kontos wants to control but Bryant is having none of it. Kontos is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bryant has control of Kontos's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kontos regains control of the situation pretty easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kontos tries to lock up and control but Bryant gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Bryant landing shots from mount. Kontos tries to reverse the position but Bryant maintains control. Bryant trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kontos tries to reverse the position but Bryant maintains control. Bryant looking to secure an arm triangle but Kontos defends it well. Kontos on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kontos tries to get out of the position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bryant looking for a guillotine from mount but Kontos is having none of it. Kontos knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bryant on the ground. Kontos is working to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A low kick from Kontos misses so Bryant counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Bryant throwing strikes from guard but Kontos blocks nicely. Kontos is trying to control the position but Bryant postures up. Bryant drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bryant jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bryant drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Bryant seems to have locked his on tight now - Kontos screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Bryant, as he picks up the win!
