Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shain throws a right hand that Padilla ducks under and follows up with a left that Padilla also avoids with ease.
Shain uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Padilla.
Shain loads up on a big right hand but Padilla slips the punch.
Shain throws a right hand that misses
and Padilla counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Padilla moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Shain feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Padilla is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Shain drops back, looking for a kneebar! Padilla looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Padilla looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Padilla!
Padilla knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shain on the ground.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Shain uses his free foot to push down on Padilla's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Padilla.

Shain wants to finish this one by submission but Padilla is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Shain.

Padilla throws out a leg kick but Shain moves out of range and Padilla only half commits.
Padilla throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Shain stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Shain has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Shain and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
