Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Reece Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Diaz's choice of entrance music: Last Ones Left by 2PAC. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reece Meyers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Diaz!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz fails to land with a series of punches.
Jeez, both these guys look absolutely knackered already, that's not a good sign!
A combination from Meyers does no damage.
Meyers misses with a series of wild punches.

Diaz feints and as Meyers raises his hands in defense, Diaz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Meyers wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Meyers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Diaz is controlling him.

Diaz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Diaz throws a big right hand that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Diaz stops Meyers from standing up.
Diaz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Meyers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground.
Diaz trying to control the position from guard on top but Meyers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Meyers wants to get back to his feet but Diaz is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Diaz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Meyers's head.
Diaz stops Meyers from standing up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Meyers working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Diaz.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Meyers wants to stand and escape but Diaz is having none of it.
Diaz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Diaz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Diaz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Diaz stops Meyers from standing up.
Meyers is looking to stand back up but Diaz counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Meyers.
Diaz prevents Meyers from standing back up.
Meyers trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diaz is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Meyers sees it coming and defends easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Diaz in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Meyers tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Diaz!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Diaz!
Nick Diaz bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
