Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Teddy Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Woodrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Teddy Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Dennis Woodrow!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Ben Zyskovitsi and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bear moves out of range as Woodrow strikes.

Bear shoots for a takedown but Woodrow saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Woodrow stops Bear from passing to mount.

Bear wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Woodrow, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Woodrow is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Woodrow bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Woodrow fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bear manages to avoid it.
Bear takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Woodrow throws a right and a left that Bear avoids nicely.
Woodrow swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Woodrow stalks Bear and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bear's face. Bear staggers backwards, shaken.
Woodrow misses with a looping left.
Bear keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Woodrow looks to land a combination but Bear avoids it well.

Woodrow lands a jab to the nose.
Bear staying out of range there.

Woodrow is controlling Bear's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Bear wants to take a breather but Woodrow is having none of it.
Woodrow is in trouble now - Bear has advanced to mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woodrow is desperately trying to improve his position but Bear has a good base and remains in mount.

Bear is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Woodrow is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bear jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Woodrow manages to avoid the submission attempt.

and Bear makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Bear counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Woodrow keeps control of Bear as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bear jumps guard but Woodrow stands there with Bear around his waist. Bear gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Woodrow wants to break free but Bear has control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bear tries to break the clinch but Woodrow is controlling the position.

Woodrow escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Woodrow throws a sloppy body shot

and Bear counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Bear wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bear fails to pull the fight into his guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Teddy Bear dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Bear shoots in looking for a takedown. Woodrow tries to sprawl out of it but Bear keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Woodrow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Woodrow throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bear counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Woodrow looks to land a right hand but Bear moved out of range.
Woodrow swings for the body but Bear moves out of range.
Woodrow throws a combination that misses
and Bear counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Bear wants to clinch.
Woodrow misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Bear counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Bear is thwarting Woodrow's attempts to control the position.
Bear is tying to control. Woodrow wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Woodrow manages to get to full guard.

Bear is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Woodrow wants to hit a switch here but Bear passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Woodrow there!

Bear tries to control but Woodrow wriggling away.

Bear has control of Woodrow's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Woodrow regains control of the situation pretty easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Woodrow tries to reverse the position but Bear maintains control.
Bear tries to control but Woodrow wriggling away.
Bear misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Woodrow stops Bear from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Bear looking to secure an arm triangle but Woodrow defends it well.

Bear is trying to take his opponent's back.
Bear throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Woodrow because Bear loaded up on that one.
Bear takes Woodrow's back.
A lull in the action here.

Bear working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Woodrow tries to escape but Bear has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bear thows a strike but Woodrow uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Woodrow as he ends up in Bear 's guard!
Woodrow must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bear can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Woodrow controls the pace.
Bear is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Bear looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Woodrow is defending well. Bear quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Woodrow has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Bear celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
