Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, McGillicuddy Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Samuraimo Rassi!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones avoids the head kick by Rassi.
Rassi tries to clinch but Jones is having none of it.
Jones is looking to slow Rassi down with leg kicks.
Jones looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Rassi scores with a leg kick.
Good shot there by Rassi.
Rassi lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!
Jones misses with a hook
and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rassi throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jones misses with an uppercut.
Rassi slips a jab from Jones.
Rassi misses with a two punch combination.
Rassi drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jones throws a hook to the side of Rassi's head but Rassi sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jones will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Jones lands a nice hook to Rassi's body. Rassi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Rassi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rassi throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Jones works over Rassi's head and body with a nice combination.
Rassi throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Jones throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rassi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Rassi throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Samuraimo Rassi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones takes a swing at Rassi's ribcage but misses.
Jones throws a big shot that misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Jones.

Jones lands a nice hook to Rassi's body. Rassi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Rassi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Rassi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rassi steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Rassi takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Rassi slips under a jab.
Jones throws a quick inside leg kick.
Rassi throws a head kick that misses.
Jones missing with a left hand there. Rassi was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jones tries to land a front kick but Rassi steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Jones dips to his left and cracks Rassi with an uppercut!
Rassi ducks right into an uppercut from Jones.
Rassi moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.

Rassi rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Jones has a couple of punches blocked by Rassi.

Rassi breaks the clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Jones. Rassi does a little dance to reset his feet.
Jones cracks Rassi with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rassi fails to land with a series of punches.
Jones throws a low kick but Rassi avoids it.

Rassi has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Rassi manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rassi fails in his attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Rassi misses with a wild combination.
Rassi throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rassi blocks a jab.
Jones avoids a kick to the body.
Rassi avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Rassi throws a push kick but Jones slaps the foot to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McGillicuddy Jones dominated that round.

Jones is trying to break the clinch but Rassi is controlling him.
Rassi tries to work over Jones's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Rassi fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rassi. That did some damage!

Rassi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Joness jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Rassi uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones.

Jones uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rassi has time to react.
A good leg kick by Jones.

Rassi misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rassi lands a nice looking body kick.
Jones throws a shot from downtown. Rassi moves away and avoids it.

Jones lands a left and a right that send Rassi crashing to the mat, dazed. Jones thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Rassi throws a jab but it's blocked by Jones.
Jones throws a looping overhand right but Rassi ducks down to avoid it.
Rassi slips a straight right by Jones.
Rassi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jones throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rassi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rassi slips a jab and a cross from Jones.
Rassi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rassi is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rassi ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
Jones throws a lazy uppercut
and Rassi counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Rassi with a jab.
Rassi throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.
Rassi tries to clinch up
and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Rassi needs to keep his hands up - Jones had a free shot at his head there.
No joy there for Rassi, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jones misses with a body shot.
Samuraimo Rassi is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rassi moves away from the strike by Jones.
Jones throws out a leg kick but Rassi moves out of range and Jones only half commits.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Jones counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.

Rassi looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Jones throws a lazy uppercut
and Rassi counters with a left and a right that stings Jones.
Rassi has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rassi there as he acknowledges the shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rassi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jones finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Rassi thuds a left hand into Jones's body.
Jones lands a two punch combo.

Rassi throws a lazy head kick
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Rassi throws a head kick that misses.
Rassi is still on wobbly legs! Can Jones finish him?
Nice straight punches there by Rassi. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Rassi.

Jones drops Rassi with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rassi looks back up at him and smiles so Jones waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jones fakes the body blow, causing Rassi to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Rassi goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
