Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dante Durant!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Samuel Oliveira!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Durant did well to prevent Oliveira getting side control.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Durant is looking to improve his position.
Oliveira is trying to control. Durant wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Oliveira not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Oliveira throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Durant avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Oliveira.
Oliveira tries to pass to full mount but Durant defends it.
Durant moves into full guard.

Durant has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oliveira can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Oliveira controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Oliveira trying to control the position from guard on top but Durant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Samuel Oliveira was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Oliveira shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Durant counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Durant drops back looking for a leg! Oliveira is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Oliveira manages to kick Durant off! Durant jumps back into Oliveira's guard.
Durant is pushing down on Oliveira's leg trying to pass to half guard. Oliveira is fighting to maintain full guard but Durant has managed to sneak the leg through.
Durant is looking to advance position but Oliveira won't allow it.
Durant throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Durant is pressing down on Oliveira's thigh, looking to free his foot. Oliveira is holding on for now.
Durant looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Oliveira is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Durant jumps into side control!

Oliveira is trying to control Durant's posture but Durant avoids it.
Oliveira really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Durant. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Oliveira is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Durant is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Oliveira sees it coming and defends easily.
Oliveira is defending against the submission attempts here by Durant.
Oliveira has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Durant is working away from the top position though.

Durant is working for a submission of some sort.
Durant throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Oliveira to regain full guard.
Oliveira wants to get back to his feet but Durant passes into half guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Durant seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Oliveira is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Dante Durant took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
