Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Katsuro Sato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Elkins comes to the cage accompanied by Care Bear Countdown. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dwight Elkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Katsuro Sato!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A thudding body kick lands there by Elkins!
Sato ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Sato buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Sato throws out a leg kick but Elkins moves out of range and Sato only half commits.
Elkins misses with a hook.
Sato throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Elkins's head.
Sato misses with a takedown attempt
and Elkins counters with a stiff right hand.
Elkins plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Katsuro Sato has been cut.
Sato fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sato throws a lazy right hand but Elkins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Sato blocks the body kick.
Elkins throws a head kick that misses.
Elkins takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Elkins scores with a jab to the head.
Sato connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Elkins is looking to land body kicks.

Sato shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sato was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Sato raining down shots from the mount!
Sato unloads with some shots from mount but Elkins bucks and avoids them well.
Elkins tries to hold on but Sato postures up.
Sato can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Elkins is looking to escape.
Elkins really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Elkins manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Elkins is looking to control Sato's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Elkins avoid being mounted?
Sato moves into full mount! Elkins won't be happy about that!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Elkins is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Elkins gets back to half guard.
Elkins is trying to get back to full guard.
Sato is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Sato is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Elkins has managed to free his arm - good work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Elkins won't allow Sato to pass to mount.

Sato is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Elkins wants to improve his position but Sato is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Katsuro Sato dominated that round.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Elkins cracks a nice hook into Sato's ribs.
Elkins throws a body kick that misses.
Elkins lands a head kick!
Elkins checks a leg kick nicely.
Sato throws a head kick that half lands.
Sato tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Elkins was well out of range. Poor timing from Sato.
Elkins misses with a hook.
Elkins wants to land a leg kick but Sato is out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sato connects with a single shot there.
Sato is looking to land body kicks.
Elkins throws out a loose jab but Sato uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sato missing with a left hand there. Elkins was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Sato scores with a crisp jab that stopped Elkins in his tracks.

Elkins misses with a combination
and Sato counters with a good, hard body kick but Elkins shrugs it off.
Sato throws a hook but Elkins avoids it easily.
Elkins throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Sato works Elkins's body with a nice hook.
Sato connects with a nice looking jab.
Elkins takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Elkins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sato pinned against the cage. Sato gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sato misses the jab.
Sato swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Sato throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Elkins misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Elkins scores with a punch to the head.
Sato lands a nice leg kick that just misses Elkins's sensitive parts.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sato lands a nice looking body shot.
Elkins throws a hook but Sato avoids it easily.
Elkins lands with an uppercut that bounces Sato off the cage and back into range.
Sato misses with an uppercut. Elkins saw that one coming.
Elkins displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Sato throws out the jab.
Elkins throws a right hand that misses
and Sato counters with a nice uppercut.
Katsuro Sato seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Sato slips under a jab from Elkins.
Both fighters circling a little - Elkins finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Sato uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Elkins.
Elkins goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Elkins misses with a few strikes there.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Decent striking displayed by Elkins there.
A jab from Elkins misses.
Elkins throws a looping overhand right but Sato ducks down to avoid it.
Sato moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Elkins moves out of range of the strikes.
Elkins connects with a single shot there.

Sato closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Elkins's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sato accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Elkins trying to keep a closed guard but Sato is proving a slippery customer.

Sato content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Elkins has locked up a guillotine! Elkins's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Sato is holding on here and Elkins must be using up a lot of energy. Sato has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Elkins gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Dwight Elkins!
