Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brynjar Skjeggestad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Disamsam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brynjar Skjeggestad! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Disamsam! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skjeggestad fails with the takedown. Skjeggestad slips a jab and a cross from Disamsam.
Disamsam is looking to clinch but Skjeggestad is avoiding it.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Skjeggestad. Disamsam lands a two punch combo.
Skjeggestad avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Disamsam lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Skjeggestad backs up against the cage.
Skjeggestad shoots for a double leg takedown but Disamsam sprawls well. He's pushed Skjeggestad's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brynjar Skjeggestad. That's going to take a lot out of him. Skjeggestad avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Disamsam takes the fight into the clinch. Skjeggestad tries for a takedown but Disamsam manages to get underhooks.
Skjeggestad drops down looking for an ankle pick but Disamsam pulls his leg out and moves away.
Disamsam tries to clinch up but Skjeggestad circles away and keeps his distance.

Disamsam wants to clinch. Disamsam tries to close the distance and clinch up but Skjeggestad swats him away and circles back towards the center. Sloppy strikes from Disamsam. Those never looked like landing. Skjeggestad tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Mark Disamsam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Disamsam throws a series of punches but Skjeggestad avoids them all with ease. Disamsam tries to clinch up. Disamsam misses with a double jab.
Mark Disamsam is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A nice combination there by Disamsam.

Disamsam closes the distance and clinches. Skjeggestad has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Disamsam clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Skjeggestad looking to break Disamsam's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Disamsam remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Skjeggestad will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! This has been an exciting period of action! Skjeggestad goes for a risky armbar from back mount and it's not paid off. Disamsam escapes and is now in half guard on top. Skjeggestad works his way to full guard. Good work. Disamsam throws a big right hand that misses. Skjeggestad has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Disamsam can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Skjeggestad escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Disamsam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Skjeggestad is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Disamsam defends well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Skjeggestad is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Disamsam has his hands clasped together but Skjeggestad extends an breaks Disamsam's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Skjeggestad.
