The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Do Pinto shoots for a double leg takedown but Moura sprawls well. He's pushed Do Pinto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Moura defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Do Pinto.
Moura lands a left and a right that send Do Pinto crashing to the mat, dazed. Moura thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Do Pinto is rocked!
It looks like Serafim Do Pinto has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Do Pinto glances at the clock... BAM! Moura nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Do Pinto crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Do Pinto is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Waldemar Moura!
Waldemar Moura was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
