Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Jones Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones Jr comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Can't be touched - Roy Jones Jr. kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Wayne Pearson could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Roy Jones Jr's chin.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roy Jones Jr! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones Jr takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Pearson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Jones Jr shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pearson as he avoids it easily. Pearson with a nice cross. Jones Jr drops his hands momentarily and Pearson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Jones Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pearson sprawls well. Pearson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones Jr gets slowly back to his feet. Pearson throws a hook but Jones Jr avoids it easily. Jones Jr uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Pearson. Pearson loads up on a big right hand but Jones Jr slips the punch. Nice uppercut lands for Pearson. That snapped Jones Jr's head back.
Jones Jr closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Jones Jr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pearson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Jones Jr is trying to get an arm triangle but Pearson is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones Jr is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pearson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jones Jr looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jones Jr is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pearson has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's going to take a lot out of Roy Jones Jr. Pearson throws a hook to the side of Jones Jr's head but Jones Jr sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Pearson misses with a wild body shot. Pearson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones Jr. Pearson misses with a looping right. Pearson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pearson slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones Jr, before circling back to the center of the mat. Jones Jr shoots in for a takedown but Pearson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Jones Jr slips a jab from Pearson. Jones Jr shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Pearson as he avoids it easily.

Pearson cracks a nice hook into Jones Jr's ribs. Jones Jr drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Pearson throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Jones Jr counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones Jr keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Jones Jr postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pearson to stand up. Jones Jr connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Pearson throws a looping overhand right but Jones Jr ducks down to avoid it. Pearson stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones Jr. Jones Jr gets slowly back to his feet. Wayne Pearson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pearson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Pearson wants to stand up but Jones Jr is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roy Jones Jr dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Jones Jr uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pearson. Jones Jr shoots in looking for a takedown. Pearson tries to sprawl out of it but Jones Jr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pearson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pearson misses with a few strikes there.

He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pearson's guard. Jones Jr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Jones Jr passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pearson is not content to let Jones Jr control the position. Jones Jr wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pearson, who protects the arm well. Jones Jr has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Pearson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Jones Jr yanks on the arm and Pearson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Jones Jr.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Roy Jones Jr! Roy Jones Jr decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
