The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merrick throws a head kick but Milat moves out of range.
Merrick tries to bum rush Milat with a series of wild strikes but Milat uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Merrick misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Milat throws out a powerful jab.
It looks like William Merrick has been cut.
Milat misses with a body shot
and Merrick counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Milat scores with a nice strike.
Milat defending well as Merrick loads up on a big left hand.
Merrick throws a right and a left that both miss.
Merrick takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Merrick lands a big head kick that sends Milat tumbling to the mat! Merrick takes a step backwards and waves Milat back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Milat is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Merrick .
A looping hook to the body misses from Milat. Merrick does a little dance to reset his feet.
Merrick looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Merrick circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Milat drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Merrick follows Milat to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
