Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Busy Signal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dante Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Signal kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Busy Signal - Smoke Some High Grade. Busy Signal has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dante Santiago! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santiago looks to throw the jab but Signal is out of range. Santiago scores with a nice strike. The fight stays on the outside here - Santiago looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Santiago gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Signal. Signal throws out a powerful jab. Signal circles away from the clinch attempt.
Signal closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Santiago to the mat! Santiago manages to get full guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Santiago is looking to stand up but Signal isn't so interested in that idea. Signal tries to free his leg and advance position but Santiago is retaining full guard. Signal trying to control but Santiago is working from the bottom. Santiago is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Signal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Santiago wants to stand but Signal is controlling the position. Signal distracts Santiago with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Santiago really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Signal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Signal trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Signal stops Santiago from standing up. Santiago preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Santiago can't keep his opponent in guard - Signal advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Santiago is looking to escape. Signal is working for a submission of some sort.

Signal is really struggling to control Santiago but he's trying to hold on to the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santiago tries to roll over but Signal keeps him under control. Signal is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Santiago can do anything to dispel that myth. Signal is nestled in close to Santiago, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Santiago keeping control of the position. Signal not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

The referee asks Signal politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Signal prefers to stall for the moment though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santiago takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Santiago tries to buck Signal off but Signal is having none of it. Signal working the head with strikes. Santiago is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Signal grinds an elbow into Santiago's temple. Santiago is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Signal asserts his dominance and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santiago is looking for a sweep. Signal working away. Signal cracks Santiago with a big right hand but Santiago just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Signal is working Santiago over with some ground and pound from side control. Santiago takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Signal in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Santiago is not content to let Signal control the position. Santiago tries to improve position but can't. Santiago is not content to let Signal control the position. Santiago tries to bench press Signal off him but Signal keeps the position. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Signal landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Signal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Signal grinds an elbow into Santiago's temple. Santiago struggling a bit here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Busy Signal dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Santiago lands with a nice combination. Signal backs away looking to recover. Santiago tries to clinch up but Signal circles away and keeps his distance. Santiago wants to clinch. Santiago fails in his attempt to clinch. Dante Santiago seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Signal shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Santiago pinned against the cage. Santiago gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Signal closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Santiago's guard. Signal trying to control the position from guard on top but Santiago is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Signal throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Signal postures up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Signal throws a big elbow that misses. Santiago pulls Signal in close to his closed guard and prevents Signal from doing any damage or advancing position.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Dante Santiago was stalling too much, according to the referee. The fight stays on the outside here - Santiago looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Santiago thows a body shot but no joy. Santiago lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Signal shoots in looking for a takedown. Santiago tries to sprawl out of it but Signal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Santiago manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Santiago tries to clinch there but Signal circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santiago wants to clinch. Nice takedown defense from Santiago. No joy for Signal on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Busy Signal. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santiago throws the left hand but Signal avoids the punch easily. Santiago takes one on the chin but seems OK.
A slow jab from Signal misses its intended target. Santiago stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santiago wants it to stay on the feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Santiago enables Signal to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Santiago manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. This has been an exciting period of action! Santiago is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Signal is controlling him. Signal wants to control from the top but Santiago keeps moving. Signal passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Santiago struggling a bit here. Signal has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Santiago! Santiago is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Signal is landing with some decent strikes but Santiago is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Santiago is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Signal softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Santiago is out cold! Signal jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!
