Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Salath Sar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mookie Hamfist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Salath Sar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mookie Hamfist! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hamfist shoots in looking for a takedown. Sar tries to sprawl out of it but Hamfist keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Hamfist stuffs the takedown. Hamfist with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hamfist doesn't manage to clinch there - Sar circles away.
Sar scores with a nice right hand.
Sar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hamfist tries to avoid it but Sar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hamfist to the ground. Hamfist escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Hamfist displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sar. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Salath Sar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sar tries for a takedown but Hamfist circles away easily and Hamfist counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hamfist takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Sar looking for submissions off his back. Hamfist landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hamfist scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Hamfist working Sar over with strikes. Sar is looking for a sweep. Hamfist is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sar has hold of Hamfist's hands but Hamfist slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hamfist is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Hamfist is nestled in close to Sar, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Sar is rocked! Hamfist throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Oh Sar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Sar is refusing to be controlled, as Hamfist sits in half guard. Sar seems to have got his legs back now. Hamfist trying to mount his opponent but Sar defends it. Sar is trying to get back to full guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hamfist connects with a nice short shot to Sar's temple. Hamfist thows a huge punch but Sar dodges it nicely.

Hamfist trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Hamfist throwing strikes from guard but Sar blocks nicely. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Hamfist wants to pass the guard but Sar is keeping the position. Hamfist is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hamfist stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Sar wants to sweep here but Hamfist controlling him for the moment. Hamfist chips away with some ground and pound. Hamfist stopping the sweep attempt from Sar. Hamfist working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hamfist lands a couple of decent looking shots. Hamfist content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Hamfist advances position into side control! Hamfist working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sar manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hamfist's best efforts. Ground and pound from Hamfist. Sar is not content to let Hamfist control the position. Sar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sar. Hamfist won't allow Sar to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sar has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Hamfist doesn't defend quickly enough and Sar has managed to lock this one up! Can Hamfist escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Sar on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Salath Sar!
