PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Palmer Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Idi Amin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Palmer Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Idi Amin!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward misses with a jab, cross combination.
Amin throws a nice inside leg kick.
Ward takes a head kick and keeps coming.

It looks like Palmer Ward has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Crunch! Amin slams his shin into Ward's torso.
Ward is breathing heavily.

Amin closes the distance and pushes Ward back into the cage.
Amin dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Ward is looking for a takedown.
The referee is keeping an eye on Amin - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Amin has a couple of punches blocked by Ward.
Ward has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Amin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Amin misses with some punches.

Amin is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Amin lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Amin breaks the clinch.
Amin tries to clinch but Ward is having none of it.

Amin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ward, pushing him back against the cage.
Amin avoiding damage.

Amin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Amin gets a clinch.
Ward blocks a body shot from Amin.
Amin lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Amin lands a left hand that snaps the head of Ward backwards.

Amin escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ward fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ward misses with a straight left.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Amin feints with a jab and clips Ward right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Ward is sent crashing into the canvas and Amin leaps in for the kill! Ward tries to get to his feet but Amin is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Ward is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Idi Amin!
