The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDermid lands a front kick.

Montana motions for McDermid to come forward. Montana throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

McDermid lands an overhand right.
Montana fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McDermid has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Montana pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Montana throws a solid leg kick but McDermid takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Montana.
McDermid tries to clinch up.
A clash of legs there as McDermid blocks the low kick.
McDermid fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Montana has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Montana takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Montana looks winded!
McDermid fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
McDermid swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McDermid connects with a leg kick. Montana looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
McDermid closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Montana crashing to the mat! Montana uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
Montana is rocked!
McDermid tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Montana is still on wobbly legs! Can McDermid finish him?
McDermid dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Montana. That did some damage!
Montana seems to have recovered his senses.
McDermid scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Montana doesn't seem bothered though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Shamus McDermid should take that round, based on the knockdown.
The cut man is working on Spud Montana's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
McDermid connects with a body shot that sends Montana's belly button to the back.
McDermid moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Shamus McDermid is winning the standup battle so far.
Montana is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. McDermid doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Montana crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Montana's bad books for that mishap!

Shamus McDermid got down on his knees post fight and begged the management for a title shot. 'Please, I want that title shot so bad! Give it to me!'
