Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hitmon Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joulu Pukki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hitmon Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

22 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joulu Pukki!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Pukki is defended easily by Lee.
Pukki will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Lee lands with an uppercut that bounces Pukki off the cage and back into range.
Pukki tries to work over Lee's front leg with a kick but Lee checks it.
Pukki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Pukki shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed Pukki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Pukki fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pukki walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lee checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Lee gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Pukki decides to pull guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Lee throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Pukki works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Pukki is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lee postures up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Pukki is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pukki is stalling here. Lee is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pukki seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lee has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

No joy there for Pukki, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pukki tests Lee's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet.
Hitmon Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joulu Pukki.
Pukki needs to keep his hands up - Lee had a free shot at his head there.
Lee is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pukki's half guard.

Lee looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pukki with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Lee decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Hitmon Lee will probably get the nod.

Lee throws a sloppy head kick and Pukki moves out of range easily.
Lee misses with a body kick.
Pukki throws a low kick but Lee avoids it.
Joulu Pukki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lee rushes Pukki and presses him up against the cage.
Lee creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Pukki's defenses.
It looks like Joulu Pukki has been cut.
A frustrated look appears on Lee's face as he tries to break the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Lee fails to land.
Pukki tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lee just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pukki tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lee smiles and moves away.
Lee lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Lee checks a leg kick.

Pukki slips a straight right by Lee.

Lee misses with a low kick as Pukki jumps back.
Lee closes the distance and pushes Pukki back into the cage.
Pukki tries to pull guard but Lee won't allow it.

Pukki jumps guard but Lee stands there with Pukki around his waist. Pukki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Pukki is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lee's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lee's back!

Pukki lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lee will feel that in the morning.
Pukki turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lee is leaning against Pukki and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Lee turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

The fighters are battling for position here. Pukki manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Lee is fighting to break Pukki's control of his arms but Pukki is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hitmon Lee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pukki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lee to the mat! Lee manages to get full guard.

Lee has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pukki can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lee is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Pukki defends well.
Pukki wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

Lee is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Pukki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Lee defends it easily.

Lee takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Lee is squirming around, avoiding Pukki's attempts to control the action.

Hitmon Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Poor strikes thrown by Pukki there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Pukki cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Joulu Pukki comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
