Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Okereke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay King looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jay King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jonny Okereke! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King blocks a head kick by Okereke.
King feints and as Okereke raises his hands in defense, King changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Okereke can do anything to dispel that myth. Okereke pushes King off and gets back to his feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from King is defended easily by Okereke. No luck for King with that takedown attempt. Okereke misses with a body kick. Okereke misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
King clinches up with Okereke and pushes him back against the cage. Okereke is looking to break free of the clinch but King has double underhooks. Good work there from Okereke! Okereke tries to stand but King is controlling his head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Okereke stands up and we're back to a striking position. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! This has been an exciting period of action! Okereke is looking to land body kicks. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Okereke tries a low kick but King avoids it. King avoids the head kick by Okereke.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and King has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from King and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. King prevents Okereke from standing back up.
Okereke makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! King shoots in and drives through. Okereke sprawls well. King looking for a takedown here - he's got it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Okereke wants to stand but King is controlling the position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

King is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Okereke is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Okereke has escaped and now he's on top! Okereke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with King. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Okereke stands and steps away. King gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

He's half up but King has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! King pivots and extends the arm, Okereke falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by King! Well done that man!
