Santiago has chosen -Frank Sinatra - as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arnold Rimmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jorge Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rimmer's jab looks to have found its range, popping Santiago under the eye.
Santiago pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Rimmer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Santiago.
Santiago dodges the punch combination from Rimmer.
Santiago pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The fighters circling - Rimmer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Santiago throws a quick inside leg kick.
Arnold Rimmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santiago swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Some wild striking there from Santiago.
Rimmer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A big left from Rimmer misses.
Rimmer misses with a straight left.
Rimmer misses with a hook
and Santiago counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
A right-left combo lands from Santiago.


It looks like Arnold Rimmer has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Santiago counters with a nice leg kick.

Santiago decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rimmer is in trouble now - Santiago has advanced to mount!
Santiago throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Santiago trying to control but Rimmer is having none of it.
Rimmer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Santiago on the ground.
Rimmer is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Santiago unloads with some shots from mount but Rimmer bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rimmer really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Santiago trying to control but Rimmer is having none of it.
Santiago punching from mount but Rimmer doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Santiago working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Rimmer turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Santiago off and cradles Rimmer's limp body as Santiago celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jorge Santiago!
Post fight, an emotional Jorge Santiago said 'Amsterdam, my new home away from home, you are beautiful. Ladies, room 69 at the De L'Europe. Bring a friend.'.
