Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Harris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Meyer! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meyer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Harris's guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Meyer drops back, looking for a kneebar! Harris looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Harris looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Harris! Meyer manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Meyer looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Harris prevents Meyer from improving his position. Harris knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Meyer on the ground. It looks like Harris is going to stand back up.
Meyer wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meyer makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Meyer. Harris avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Meyer slips nicely into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harris won't allow Meyer to pass to mount. Meyer seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Meyer is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Meyer is controlling the pace.
Harris won't allow Meyer to pass to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meyer is keen to just control but Harris is a slippery customer. Meyer wants to work for an arm triangle but Harris is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Meyer wants to take a breather but Harris is having none of it. Meyer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harris's head. Meyer working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Meyer is looking for a kimura here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Meyer in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Harris tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Meyer!
