Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tien Jaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santos Ryan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryan has chosen Wassup - by ASAP Rocky as his entrance music. Tien Jaa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Santos Ryan!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaa doesn't manage to clinch there - Ryan circles away.
Ryan scores with a hook.
Jaa tries to clinch but Ryan moves out of range.
Ryan fails to land with a series of punches.
Ryan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Jaa takes one to the chin there.
Ryan throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jaa sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Jaa defending well as Ryan loads up on a big left hand.
Ryan keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

and Ryan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ryan throws a looping overhand right but Jaa ducks down to avoid it.
Jaa's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ryan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Jaa scrambles back to his feet.
Jaa moves out of range of the strikes.
Ryan misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jaa tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Ryan counters with a nice leg kick.
Ryan looks to land a left hand but Jaa moved out of range nicely.
Jaa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Ryan throws a shot from downtown. Jaa moves away and avoids it.
Ryan throws a jab when Jaa was well out of range.
Ryan tried to score with a low kick but Jaa checks it.
Jaa takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ryan lands a lovely overhand right.
Jaa tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Ryan counters with a good low kick that Jaa was not able to check.

Ryan closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jaa's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ryan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jaa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jaa tries to get out of the position.

Ryan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jaa, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Ryan goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Jaa rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ryan's guard! Nice work there by Jaa!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Santos Ryan dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jaa tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Ryan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jaa uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Ryan.

Jaa slips under a jab.

Jaa ducks under a wild hook from Ryan.

Ryan blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Jaa tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Jaa manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

The referee is keeping an eye on Jaa - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Ryan has hold of one of Jaa's legs. Jaa is fighting the takedown attempt but Ryan gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Ryan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Ryan throws an elbow that misses. Jaa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ryan's guard. Nice move by Jaa!

Ryan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ryan thows a huge punch but Jaa dodges it nicely.

Ryan is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Jaa still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Jaa has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Santos Ryan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

No joy there for Ryan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ryan throws a right hand that Jaa ducks under and follows up with a left that Jaa also avoids with ease.

and Ryan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Ryan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ryan misses with a few strikes there.

Ryan fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jaa to the ground. Ryan is now in Jaa's guard.

Ryan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Santos Ryan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Ryan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
