0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Denis Kolesnichenko! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kolesnichenko throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Williams counters with a right hand to the body. Kolesnichenko doesn't succeed with the takedown and Williams counters with a takedown into side control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Williams has knee on belly and moves into mount. Kolesnichenko tries to hold on but Williams postures up. Kolesnichenko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Williams. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Williams lands a heavy elbow. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kolesnichenko in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Kolesnichenko is in all sorts of trouble here.
Williams can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kolesnichenko is looking to escape. Kolesnichenko is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams with a couple of short strikes. Kolesnichenko is looking to improve his position but Williams isn't that keen on the idea. Williams wants to finish this one by submission but Kolesnichenko is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Williams. Williams lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Williams has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Williams lands a big shot to the head and Kolesnichenko winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
