Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jacob Zuma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Choke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jacob Zuma has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jacob Zuma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jack Choke!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Choke rushes Zuma and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Choke stalling.

Choke has hold of one of Zuma's legs. Zuma is fighting the takedown attempt but Choke gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Zuma looking to control.
Choke stays in close to Zuma's body and controls the position.
Choke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zuma. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Zuma not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Choke shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Choke was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zuma throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Choke takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Zuma prevents any damage by holding on tight.

Choke content just to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zuma working to try and regain half guard.
Choke trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Zuma tries to lock up and control but Choke gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Zuma wants to control but Choke is keeping busy and won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Zuma avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Choke darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Zuma regains full guard. Nicely done.

Zuma is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Zuma is trying to keep Choke in close.

Zuma escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Choke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Zuma controls Choke momentarily but Choke frees himself.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Zuma shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Choke eats them both and turns towards Zuma to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Zuma misses with a few strikes there.

Choke looking to score a takedown here. Zuma is defending well but Choke drives through and ends up in Zuma's guard.

Zuma looking for a guillotine here but Choke defends easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A close round but Jack Choke will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Choke darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Choke takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Choke is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Zuma has managed to free his arm - good work.
Choke is breathing heavily.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Choke in particular looking to stall.
Jack Choke has got the better of the ground game so far.
Choke stops Zuma from getting back to his feet.

Jack Choke has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Choke closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Zuma to the mat! Zuma manages to get full guard.

Zuma looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Zuma tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Choke landing with the ground and pound.
Choke trying to control but Zuma is working from the bottom.

Zuma has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Choke can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zuma controls Choke momentarily but Choke frees himself.
Choke stopping the sweep attempt from Zuma.
Zuma is trying to keep Choke in close.
Choke pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Zuma is keeping the position for now.

Zuma wants to sweep here but Choke controlling him for the moment.
Zuma lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Choke!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Zuma cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
You get the feeling that Choke really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Zuma looking to control but Choke is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Zuma is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Choke is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Zuma prevents Choke from getting the reversal.
Zuma looking to control but Choke is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Zuma putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Choke is desperately trying to improve his position but Zuma has a good base and remains in mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zuma tries to control but Choke wriggling away.
BOOM! Zuma connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Choke tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob Zuma dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Zuma fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Choke to the ground. Zuma is now in Choke's guard.

Choke looking for a guillotine here but Zuma defends easily.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Choke can do anything to dispel that myth.
Choke not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Zuma sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Choke's guard.
Zuma works his way into full mount!
Zuma lands a big shot there that rocks Choke but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Zuma looking to control and managing it successfully.
Choke takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Zuma wants to finish this one by submission but Choke is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Zuma.

Zuma can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Choke is looking to escape.
Zuma raining down shots from the mount!

Zuma has control of Choke's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Choke regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Choke can't escape the position.
Zuma wants to control the pace but Choke is squirming around nicely.

Zuma goes for an armbar but Choke turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Choke.

Zuma is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Choke rolls with it to try and escape but Zuma cranks on the arm and Choke is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
