Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eli Bernstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eli Bernstein is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Kerr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Eli Bernstein! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kerr. Bernstein throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kerr's head. Bernstein looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kerr throws a push kick but Bernstein slaps the foot to one side. Kerr walks forward, straight into a front kick from Bernstein. Bernstein closes the distance and clinches. Bernstein goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kerr prevents it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bernstein breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. A combination from Bernstein does no damage. Kerr has Bernstein up against the cage in a clinch.
Bernstein is trying to break free. Bernstein managing to block the knees to the body from Kerr.
Bernstein is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kerr is defending well for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bernstein prevents the takedown attempt.
Bernstein breaks the clinch.
Kerr drives through with a takedown into guard. Bernstein is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Bernstein is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Bernstein is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bernstein is on top in guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bernstein trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Bernstein forces his way into half guard. Kerr looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Kerr wants to improve his position but Bernstein is controlling well.
This has been an exciting period of action! Bernstein wants to free his trapped foot but Kerr is holding on for dear life with his legs. Bernstein is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bernstein is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kerr defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bernstein works his way into full mount! Bernstein is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kerr can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Bernstein is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Kerr to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Kerr shrugs it off. Kerr is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bernstein scoring with strikes but Kerr is staying in there. Bernstein prevents Kerr from getting the reversal. Bernstein is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kerr can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Kerr in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kerr is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Kerr keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bernstein looking to control but Kerr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kerr defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bernstein. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eli Bernstein dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Bernstein stuffs the takedown attempt from Kerr. Kerr gets slowly back to his feet. Mark Kerr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bernstein tries to clinch there but Kerr circles away.
Kerr dives in and scores a takedown into Bernstein's guard. Kerr has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bernstein is looking to stand up but Kerr isn't so interested in that idea. Bernstein pulls Kerr in close to his closed guard and prevents Kerr from doing any damage or advancing position. Bernstein is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kerr is controlling him.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Bernstein working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kerr. Bernstein working a defensive guard here.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Eli Bernstein wasn't active enough on the ground. Kerr tries for a takedown but Bernstein circles away easily and Bernstein counters with a leg kick. Bernstein lands a nice looking body kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bernstein lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bernstein digs a good hook to Kerr's body.
Bernstein fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Kerr on the side of the head.
It looks like Mark Kerr has been cut. Bernstein misses with a few strikes there.
Kerr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bernstein. Bernstein bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bernstein wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kerr keeps working. Kerr on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kerr tries to get out of the position. Bernstein decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kerr to his feet. Bernstein fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Eli Bernstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bernstein throws a head kick that misses. Bernstein lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kerr circles away quickly and effectively. Bernstein gets caught flat footed, as Kerr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Eli Bernstein has got the better of the ground game so far. Bernstein wants to get back to his feet but Kerr is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kerr wants to control from the top but Bernstein keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Kerr won't allow Bernstein to get back to his feet. Bernstein wants to sweep but no luck.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Kerr. Kerr shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bernstein as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Kerr. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kerr avoids a punch combination nicely.
Bernstein lands a two punch combo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bernstein moves into range and clinches up with Kerr. Kerr pulls guard. Bernstein wants to control from the top but Kerr keeps moving. Kerr throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Bernstein lands a couple of elbows. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bernstein works a leg free and moves into half guard. Kerr blocking the ground and pound attempt from Bernstein. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Bernstein maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kerr could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Bernstein has cracked it and Kerr is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Bernstein!
