Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Laz Staz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Staz comes into the arena with protect your neck blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Laz Staz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Spong! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Staz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Staz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Spong is positioning himself to get back to half guard. A bit of a lull in the action here. Staz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Spong tries to get back to half guard but can't. Staz is trying to get an arm triangle but Spong is defending well. Spong tries to buck Staz off but Staz is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Staz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Spong, who protects the arm well. Staz tries for a kimura but Spong is defending well. Staz working away. Spong is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Staz is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Spong is trying desperately to improve position. Spong tries to hold on but Staz postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Staz connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Spong can't escape the position.
Staz goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Spong is on top in guard.
Spong wants to control from the top but Staz keeps moving. Staz looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Spong passes into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Spong controls the position. Spong wants to control but Staz is keeping him busy. Sloppy strikes there by Spong. Staz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Spong off and has taken his back! Staz working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet. Staz is breathing heavily. Spong just looking to survive in the bad position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Spong controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Staz scores with punches to the body. Staz wants to control but Spong is keeping busy. Spong just trying to survive but Staz is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Staz has got his arm under Spong's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Spong has spun round into Staz's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Spong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Staz swivels though and keeps the full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Laz Staz will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
The fight stays on the outside here - Staz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Staz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Staz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Spong tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Staz is in Spong's guard. Staz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Staz's corner is telling him to maintain position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Spong is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Staz pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Spong is keeping the position for now. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Spong keeping moving, preventing Staz from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Staz doesn't manage to clinch there - Spong circles away.
Staz avoids the body shot from Spong.
Spong drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Staz parries the strikes from Spong easily there. Spong is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Staz to escape.
Spong slows the pace down. Staz is trying to control Spong's posture but Spong avoids it. Spong is looking to take a break and control but Staz is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Spong decides to stand up, so the ref orders Staz to his feet. Laz Staz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Spong shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Staz napping and manages to drive through into side control! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Spong wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Staz, who protects the arm well. Spong wants to control but Staz is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Staz has gone for a leg lock! Spong slips out almost immediately though and dives into Staz's guard. Staz keeping full guard, as Spong tries to pass. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Staz is on top in guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spong is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Staz defends well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ross Spong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Spong closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Staz has clasped his hands together around Spong's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Staz tries to move into full mount but can't pass Spong's legs. Spong sneaks back into half guard. Spong looking for submissions off his back. Spong keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Spong looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Spong takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Spong tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Staz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Spong does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Staz trying to mount his opponent but Spong defends it. Staz trying to control from half guard but Spong is working away. Spong tries to get to full guard but Staz has control of the leg. Spong trying to control but Staz postures up.
Staz is keen to just control but Spong is a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Laz Staz. Spong takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Spong closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Staz quickly recovers to half guard. Staz looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Staz gets back to full guard.
Staz is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. This has been an exciting period of action! Spong trying to control the position from guard on top but Staz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Spong's corner is telling him to maintain position. Staz wants to stand up but Spong is controlling him. Spong wants to control from the top but Staz keeps moving.

And that's the end of the fight! Ross Spong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Spong has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
