Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Laz Staz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ross Spong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Staz comes into the arena with protect your neck blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staz will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Staz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Spong is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Staz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Staz has got his arm under Spong's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Spong has spun round into Staz's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Spong stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Staz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Laz Staz will probably get the nod.

Spong decides to stand up, so the ref orders Staz to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Spong shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Staz napping and manages to drive through into side control!
