PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devon Bevins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Frank Dunn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Devon Bevins!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dunn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bevins tries to avoid it but Dunn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bevins to the ground. Bevins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Dunn displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bevins.
Bevins fails with the takedown.
Bevins looks for a takedown but Dunn sprawls well.
Frank Dunn has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Devon Bevins.
Dunn darts in trying to clinch
and Bevins connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Horrible takedown by Bevins or perhaps it was just good defense by Dunn which made him look bad.
A punch combination from Dunn misses.

Dunn gets tackled into the cage by Bevins. Bevins maintains the clinch.
Bevins has Dunn pressed against the cage, preventing Dunn from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Dunn tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Bevins just stands there and leans against the cage.
Bevins should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dunn jumps guard but Bevins stands there with Dunn around his waist. Dunn gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Bevins manages to break the clinch.
Bevins tries to close the distance and clinch up but Dunn swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Dunn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bevins as he jumps to the side.
Bevins blocks a head kick by Dunn.
Bevins moves in looking to clinch but Dunn pushes him off.
Bevins tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bevins enables Dunn to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bevins manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dunn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bevins has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dunn has managed to get both his arms back between Bevins's legs - danger averted.
Bevins wants to improve his position but instead Dunn has moved into half guard.

Dunn maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Bevins could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Dunn has cracked it and Bevins is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Dunn!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Frank Dunn!
