Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Natel Lawson! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, John Mangel and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lawson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jones is fending him off so far but Lawson persists. Nope, Jones circles away and we're back to standing. Lawson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes. Lawson fails with a takedown attempt. Rony Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Natel Lawson. A lazy body kick from Lawson and Jones counters with a good low kick that Lawson was not able to check. Lawson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lawson gets slowly back to his feet. Jones shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lawson pinned against the cage. Lawson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lawson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Jones throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Jones lands with a hook. Lawson tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Lawson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away. Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Jones wants to stand but Lawson has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Jones trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Jones postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Lawson to stand up. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. Lawson fails with a takedown attempt. Lawson looks winded! No luck for Lawson with that takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lawson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Jones has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Jones ducks under a wild hook from Lawson. Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Jones stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jones wants it to stay on the feet. Jones goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Lawson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Lawson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jones closes the distance and clinches. Jones breaks from the clinch.

Lawson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Lawson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Lawson wants to free his trapped foot but Jones is holding on for dear life with his legs. Lawson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lawson is trying to control. Jones wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Jones kicks Lawson off and gets back to his feet. Natel Lawson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones tries to clinch but Lawson moves out of range. Jones moves into the clinch. Lawson is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Lawson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Nice sprawl there from Lawson as Jones shoots in. Jones keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones has closed the distance and engaged Lawson in a clinch.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lawson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jones to keep the fight standing. Lawson tries to pull guard but Jones forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Jones works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lawson shoots in looking for a takedown but Jones manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lawson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Lawson is breathing heavily. Jones softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Lawson is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones lands a nice shot to the body. Lawson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Jones just stands there and leans against the cage. Jones turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Jones decides to take the fight back to the feet. Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Lawson shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones moves into the clinch. Jones pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A head kick misses from Jones. Jones cracks Lawson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Lawson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. No luck for Lawson with that takedown attempt. Lawson fails to land the takedown. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice body kick from Jones. Jones darts in and clinches Lawson up against the cage. Lawson is trying to pull guard but Jones has him pressed against the cage. Jones lands a knee to the body.

Lawson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Jones. Jones forces Lawson back against the cage and clinches. Jones breaks from the clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jones is defended easily by Lawson. A slapping leg kick lands for Jones.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Lawson. Lawson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Lawson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Lawson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Jones looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Jones looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Jones! You can see the frustration on Lawson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lawson is trying to improve his position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones tries to stand but Lawson controls the position and pulls Jones into his guard. Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lawson on the ground. Jones would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Lawson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jones has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Lawson is trying to get back to half guard. Jones decides to stand back up. Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lawson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

And that's the end of the fight! Natel Lawson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jones has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
