Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Igor Ignatowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Volk Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Igor Ignatowski could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Volk Khan's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Igor Ignatowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Volk Khan!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Khan has a takedown stuffed.
Ignatowski waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Khan.
Ignatowski misses with a double jab

and Khan counters with a shoot takedown. Ignatowski fights it but they end up in guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Khan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ignatowski is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ignatowski has escaped and now he's on top!
Ignatowski trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Khan wants to hit a switch here but Ignatowski passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Khan there!
Khan bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Khan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Ignatowski dives on top into guard.
Ignatowski wants to pass the guard but Khan is keeping the position.
Khan manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ignatowski manages to get himself to full guard.
Khan seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Ignatowski trying to keep a closed guard but Khan is proving a slippery customer.

Ignatowski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Khan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Khan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Khan wants to pass the guard but Ignatowski is keeping the position.

Ignatowski manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Khan is looking to improve his position but Ignatowski isn't that keen on the idea.
Khan sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Ignatowski is looking to work some ground and pound but Khan has wrist control.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ignatowski feints a jab promting Khan to slip. Ignatowski then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Khan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Khan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ignatowski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Khan somewhat.

Khan drives through with a takedown into Ignatowski's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Khan passes into half guard.

Khan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Volk Khan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ignatowski is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Khan pulls his head out easily.

Khan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Khan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Khan tries to hold on but Ignatowski postures up.
Ignatowski pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Khan is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Khan is trying to escape the mount.
Ignatowski has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Khan's face.
Khan gets back to half guard.
Ignatowski is trying to control. Khan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Khan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ignatowski is working away from the top position though.
Khan is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Ignatowski is staying active.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ignatowski is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Khan is just riding it out for now. Ignatowski eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Ignatowski closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Khan shoots in but no luck this time.
Ignatowski tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Khan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Ignatowski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Ignatowski tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Khan wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

I would just about give that final round to Volk Khan.
