PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evander Tripp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tripp comes into the arena with Bad Company - The Nine blaring out of the sound system. Santiago has chosen Kanye West - Stronger as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Evander Tripp has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Evander Tripp seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bobby Santiago!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Kenichi Hosakawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santiago takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Santiago is fighting off a takedown attempt but Tripp is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Santiago to the mat. Santiago regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tripp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Santiago doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Santiago drops back looking for a leg! Tripp is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Tripp manages to kick Santiago off! Santiago jumps back into Tripp's guard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Evander Tripp will probably get the nod.

Tripp throws out a loose jab but Santiago uses good head movement to avoid it.
Santiago uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Tripp.
A telegraphed right hand from Tripp misses the target.
Santiago has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Tripp finds it's way round the side to connect with Santiago's head.

Tripp changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santiago looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well Tripp has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
