Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bubba Tep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Fletcher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tep comes to the cage accompanied by You're the Best Around. Bubba Tep has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bubba Tep! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Fletcher! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tep closes the distance and clinches up with Fletcher, looking for a takedown. Tep pushes Fletcher against the cage but Fletcher circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Tep looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fletcher! Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Fletcher is working to get back to half guard.
Tep with the ground and pound from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tep looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Tep can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fletcher is looking to escape. Fletcher is trying to reverse the position but instead Tep has taken his back - oops! Fletcher defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Tep has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fletcher has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Fletcher tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
That's one minute gone in the round. Fletcher is looking to improve his position but Tep isn't that keen on the idea. Tep tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Fletcher tries to reverse the position but Tep maintains control. Tep looking for a guillotine from mount but Fletcher is having none of it. Fletcher really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tep. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Tep is breathing heavily. Fletcher tries to hold on but Tep postures up. Fletcher really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Tep stands up from mount. Strange move.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Fletcher drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Tep scores with a one two! Fletcher had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Tep misses with a takedown attempt - Fletcher sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Tep lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Fletcher has his takedown stuffed and Tep counters with a left to the body. Tep throws a head kick but Fletcher moves out of range.
Tep scores with a hook to the body. Fletcher takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tep tries to clinch there but Fletcher circles away.
Tep fails with the takedown and Fletcher counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bubba Tep. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tep working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Fletcher doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Fletcher manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Tep looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tep bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fletcher's guard. Tep trying to control the position from guard on top but Fletcher is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Fletcher tries to land a sweep but no joy. Tep tries to free his leg and advance position but Fletcher is retaining full guard. Tep stopping the sweep attempt from Fletcher.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fletcher is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Fletcher is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tep wants to pass the guard but Fletcher is keeping the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Fletcher takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Tep throws a left that rocks Fletcher and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Tep dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Fletcher regain composure!
Fletcher is rocked! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Tep is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Fletcher knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Fletcher is still in real trouble! Can Tep finish him? We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fletcher can do anything to dispel that myth. Fletcher tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tep wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bubba Tep dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Tep missing with a left hand there. Fletcher was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Fletcher seems to have recovered his senses. A nice combination there by Tep.
Tep closes the distance but Fletcher moves to the side and Fletcher counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fletcher looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tep with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fletcher landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Tep manages to get to full guard.
Fletcher pushing down on Tep's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Fletcher is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Tep gets back to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Fletcher forces his way into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Tep manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Fletcher with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Tep throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Tep lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Fletcher! Tep looking to isolate an arm here. Fletcher doesn't see it coming and as Tep extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Tep!
