Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sono tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diggler swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sono looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Diggler is fending him off so far but Sono persists. Nope, Diggler circles away and we're back to standing.
Diggler stuffs the takedown attempt from Sono. Sono gets slowly back to his feet.

and Sono counters with a takedown into side control.
Diggler is looking for a sweep.

Sono is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Diggler will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Sono taking a break here but Diggler is having none of it and regains half guard.

Diggler is refusing to be controlled, as Sono sits in half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sono is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Diggler is just riding it out for now. Sono eventually gives up the hold.

Sono seems to be working for a kimura but Diggler defends the submission attempt.

Diggler on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Diggler tries to get out of the position.
Sono tries to free his leg and advance position but Diggler is retaining full guard.
Diggler looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Diggler wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Diggler is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Sono trying to control the position from guard on top but Diggler is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Diggler is looking to sinch up a triangle. Sono throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Diggler's body to avoid the submission. Diggler has instead reached around Sono's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Diggler arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
