Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mogul Khan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Murdock! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice defenses there by Khan. Murdock swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Murdock throws a sloppy head kick and Khan moves out of range easily. Murdock just misses with a punch to the body.

Murdock throws a jab when Khan was well out of range. Murdock fails in his attempt to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Khan scores a takedown into full mount! Khan is working for a guillotine from mount but Murdock frees his head quite easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Khan wants to take his opponent's back but Murdock doesn't allow it. Murdock really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Khan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Murdock is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Khan is breathing heavily. Murdock pushes Khan away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Khan gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Khan tries to move into full mount but can't pass Murdock's legs. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murdock is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Khan has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Murdock fails to land with a series of punches.

Khan shoots in and drives through. Murdock sprawls well. Khan takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Murdock misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Murdock wants to clinch up but Khan keeps it at a distance. Murdock rushes Khan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Murdock tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Khan takes a shot to the head. Murdock tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Murdock with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Murdock is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Khan tries to score a body lock takedown but Murdock shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Khan tries to pull guard but Murdock holds him up against the cage and eventually Khan drops back down to his feet.

Murdock has had enough of the clinch but Khan keeps him there for the moment. Murdock throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Khan blocks it with crossed arms. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Matt Murdock will probably get the nod. That's time! Khan's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Khan drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Khan tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Khan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Murdock has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Khan but great work by Murdock. Murdock stands up. Khan takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Murdock clinches. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Murdock lands with a short shot to the head. Murdock breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Murdock wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Khan goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Murdock is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Murdock stands up from Khan's guard - Murdock perhaps looking for a knockout. Khan keeps the fight on the outside. Murdock closes the distance and clinches. Murdock lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

That's three minutes gone in the round. Murdock fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Khan, pushing him back against the cage. A nice left hand lands by Murdock.
Murdock lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Murdock lands a hook to the side of the head. Khan blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Khan slips under a jab. Murdock swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Khan. Murdock plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Murdock rushes Khan and presses him up against the cage. A short right from Murdock. Murdock has had enough of the clinch but Khan keeps him there for the moment. Murdock makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Murdock wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Khan is working hard here to advance position. Khan has gone for a leg lock! Murdock slips out almost immediately though and dives into Khan's guard. Matt Murdock showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Khan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Khan lands in his opponent's guard. Khan wants to pass the guard but Murdock is keeping the position. Khan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Murdock looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Murdock looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Murdock! Khan sneaks back into half guard. Khan looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Khan is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Khan works his way to full guard. Good work. Murdock stopping the sweep attempt from Khan. Murdock decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Khan, up you get! Murdock tries to clinch but Khan moves out of range. A combination from Murdock does no damage. Murdock is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Murdock clinches up against the cage. Khan fails to pull guard.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Murdock creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Murdock manages to break the clinch.
Murdock throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Khan's head. Khan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Murdock misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Khan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Murdock is fending him off so far but Khan persists. Nope, Murdock circles away and we're back to standing. Murdock wants to clinch up but Khan keeps it at a distance. Murdock misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Khan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Khan trying to mount his opponent but Murdock defends it. Murdock is trying to stand up here but Khan is controlling him well.
