Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Urie Sergeyev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urac Hunt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Urie Sergeyev has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Urie Sergeyev! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Urac Hunt! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Illya Tyunina and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunt keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Hunt defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sergeyev. Hunt throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Hunt gets caught flat footed, as Sergeyev shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Sergeyev postures up in Hunt's guard and throws a big left but Hunt blocks it. Sergeyev loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sergeyev throws a strike but Hunt rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Sergeyev is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Sergeyev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hunt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunt wants to stand but Sergeyev is controlling his posture from full guard. Sergeyev is working an open guard so Hunt takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Sergeyev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hunt but Hunt pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Urie Sergeyev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sergeyev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hunt sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sergeyev somewhat. Sergeyev shoots in looking for a takedown. Hunt tries to sprawl out of it but Sergeyev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hunt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunt fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sergeyev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hunt on his heels. He'll look to pass Hunt's guard now, I'm sure. Sergeyev wants to control from the top but Hunt keeps moving.

Hunt is looking to stand up but Sergeyev isn't so interested in that idea. Sergeyev throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sergeyev postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hunt fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sergeyev has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Sergeyev takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hunt walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sergeyev checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Sergeyev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hunt's waist but Hunt gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sergeyev off to one side. An inside leg kick from Sergeyev misses. Sergeyev manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hunt on his heels. He'll look to pass Hunt's guard now, I'm sure. Hunt wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sergeyev manages to pass to side control. Sergeyev throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Hunt to regain full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sergeyev throwing strikes but missing. Sergeyev will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Sergeyev with a flurry of punches that miss. Sergeyev throws an elbow that misses. Hunt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sergeyev's guard. Nice move by Hunt! Hunt wants to get up but he can't break Sergeyev's closed guard. Urie Sergeyev dominated that second round. That's time! Sergeyev's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Sergeyev fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Hunt tries to clinch up but Sergeyev circles away and keeps his distance. Nice body kick there by Hunt. Sergeyev chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hunt can pounce on him.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Hunt lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Sergeyev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hunt as he avoids it easily. Hunt throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sergeyev fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Urie Sergeyev. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sergeyev fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sergeyev stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Hunt. Horrible takedown by Sergeyev or perhaps it was just good defense by Hunt which made him look bad. Hunt thows a leg kick but Sergeyev checks it and Sergeyev counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sergeyev.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sergeyev accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sergeyev trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sergeyev stops Hunt from standing up. Sergeyev with a flurry of punches that miss. Sergeyev trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Hunt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sergeyev.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sergeyev looking to sit in guard and control but Hunt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Hunt trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sergeyev's guard. Sergeyev working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hunt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hunt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hunt would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Sergeyev has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hunt off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Hunt throws a nice outside leg kick. Urie Sergeyev is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hunt feints and then cracks Sergeyev's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sergeyev down. Sergeyev fails with the takedown. Urac Hunt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sergeyev circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sergeyev closes the distance and clinches up with Hunt, looking for a takedown. Sergeyev pushes Hunt against the cage but Hunt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Hunt throws a head kick that misses. Urac Hunt has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! No luck for Sergeyev with that takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Urie Sergeyev. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sergeyev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
