Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vic Vantrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ray Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vic Vantrell!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stone misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Stone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Stone shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Vantrell defends it nicely.
Stone fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Stone. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Stone takes the fight into the clinch.
Stone jumps guard but Vantrell stands there with Stone around his waist. Stone gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Vantrell lands a hook to the side of the head.

Stone looks for a takedown but Vantrell sprawls well.

Stone tries for a takedown but Vantrell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Ray Stone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Vantrell shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stone napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Vantrell scores with a couple of short elbows.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stone is looking to reverse the position.

Vantrell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vantrell works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Vantrell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stone is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Vantrell throws a strike aimed at the side of Stone's head but Stone avoids it well.

Vantrell looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Vantrell is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stone has escaped the position, nice work there.
Vantrell creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Stone sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Vantrell grinds an elbow into Stone's temple.
Stone knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vantrell on the ground.
Vantrell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stone keeps working.
Stone is looking for a sweep.
Vantrell scores with punches from side control.

Vantrell tries for a kimura but Stone is defending well.
Vantrell lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Stone is trying to get back to half guard.
Vantrell trying to control the position but Stone is working away.
Vantrell working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Vantrell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stone knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vantrell is looking to take a break and control but Stone is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Stone is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Vantrell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Stone fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Stone dives in and grabs Vantrell's left leg, looking for a takedown. Vantrell pushes down on Stone's head and hops out.

Vantrell scores with a takedown into Stone's guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vantrell's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Vantrell slips nicely into half guard.
Stone is not content to let Vantrell control the position.
Stone won't allow Vantrell to pass to mount.

Vantrell is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Stone pushes Vantrell off but Vantrell dives into side control.
Stone is working to avoid the ground and pound but Vantrell connects with a decent elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Vantrell goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Stone rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Vantrell's guard! Nice work there by Stone!
Vantrell manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stone manages to get himself to full guard.
Vantrell scoring with some ground and pound.
Vantrell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Vantrell works his way into full mount!
Vantrell lands a big elbow.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vantrell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Stone is looking to escape.

Vantrell goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Stone turns into him and now he's in Vantrell's guard.
Vantrell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Stone!

Vantrell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Stone is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Vantrell lands a big shot there that rocks Stone but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Stone is rocked!
Stone tries to reverse the position but Vantrell maintains control.
Oh Stone is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Vantrell throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Stone has his hands clasped together but Vantrell breaks the hold and Stone is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Vantrell!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Vic Vantrell!
An out of breath Vic Vantrell thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
