The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hale swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A punch lands to the side of Hale 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Roofie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hale is trying to get back to full guard.

Roofie blocks the strikes from Hale.
Hale knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Roofie on the ground.

Roofie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Roofie lands in his opponent's guard.

Hale is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Roofie is aware though and is defending well.
Roofie postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Roofie keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Hale's head.
Roofie chips away with some ground and pound.

Roofie seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Roofie stands up over Hale, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Roofie distracts Hale with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
