Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daley Bornstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Earls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bornstein comes to the cage accompanied by Men at Work - Land Down Under. Earls has chosen Tommy Gun as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daley Bornstein!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Earls!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Earls doesn't manage to clinch there - Bornstein circles away.
Bornstein misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bornstein rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Earls moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bornstein scores with a body shot.
Earls slips under a jab.
Earls changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bornstein tries to avoid it but Earls manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bornstein to the ground. Bornstein escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bornstein swats away the attempt to clinch by Earls.
Earls scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Earls bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Bornstein's head.
Earls slips under a jab.

Earls fails with an attempt to clinch.
Earls wants to clinch up but Bornstein keeps it at a distance.
Earls throws a hook to the side of Bornstein's head but Bornstein sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bornstein moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Nick Earls has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Earls tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bornstein paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bornstein displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Earls throws out the jab.

and Bornstein counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Bornstein lands a big uppercut and Earls crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Earls looks OK.

Earls tries to get to full guard but Bornstein has control of the leg.
Earls seems to have recovered his senses.
Earls is pressing down on Bornstein's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

and Bornstein cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Bornstein counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Earls misses with an uppercut. Bornstein saw that one coming.
Bornstein connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Horrible takedown by Earls or perhaps it was just good defense by Bornstein which made him look bad.
Bornstein throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Bornstein swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice uppercut lands for Bornstein. That snapped Earls's head back.
Earls tries for a takedown but Bornstein circles away easily
and Bornstein counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Daley Bornstein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Earls.
Bornstein throws a nice looking combination but Earls bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nick Earls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Earls throws a lazy right hand but Bornstein sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Earls works Bornstein's body with a nice hook.
Earls wants to clinch
and Bornstein counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Earls gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Earls takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bornstein scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Earls shoots in looking for a takedown. Bornstein tries to sprawl out of it but Earls keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bornstein manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Earls closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Bornstein's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bornstein swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Earls changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bornstein looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Bornstein is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Earls has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Earls tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Earls has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Earls is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Bornstein is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Earls is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bornstein has escaped the position, nice work there.
Bornstein gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Earls tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bornstein knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Earls has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bornstein defend it? Earls steps over the head and cranks it - Bornstein is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Earls!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nick Earls!
