Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alfredo Amarena (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janne My (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Amarena's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Face the Pain - Stemm. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Janne My was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alfredo Amarena!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Janne My!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
My lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Amarena circles away quickly and effectively.

Amarena throws a body punch but My moves out of range.

Amarena shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches My napping and manages to drive through into side control!
You can see the frustration on My's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

My is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Amarena off and has taken his back!

My is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Amarena is defending well though. My let's go of the attempt for now.
My is not going to allow Amarena to sit and survive in this position.
My throws strikes from the back but Amarena rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Amarena.

My throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Amarena works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
My stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Amarena swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
My wants to control from the top but Amarena keeps moving.

Amarena has his foot on My's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. My works his way back into a safe position though.

My throws an elbow that misses. Amarena uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in My's guard. Nice move by Amarena!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Amarena is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, My has managed to free his arm - good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Amarena lands a jab to My's midsection.
My throws a sloppy head kick and Amarena moves out of range easily.
Alfredo Amarena seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Amarena stuns My with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
My throws a nice looking combination but Amarena bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Amarena closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming My to the mat! My manages to get full guard.

Amarena drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Amarena jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Alfredo Amarena overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

My lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Amarena!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
My prevents Amarena from getting the reversal.

Amarena is trying to control but can't.

My is trying to work for a kimura but Amarena is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
My not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

My wants to take a breather but Amarena is having none of it.
My passes to side control.

My swings around for an armbar but Amarena sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into My's guard.

My wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Amarena is now in half guard.
Amarena drops an elbow to the side of My's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

My is working to avoid the ground and pound but Amarena connects with a decent elbow.

Amarena cracks My with a big right hand but My just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
My parries the strikes from Amarena easily there. Amarena is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable My to escape.
My is trying to improve his position.

Amarena tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Amarena is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. My is trying to escape and Amarena transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and My is forced to tap! Nice work there by Amarena! Very nice indeed!
