The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem moves into range and clinches up with Mir.
Overeem lands an elbow that stopped Mir in his tracks for a moment.
It looks like Frank Mir has been cut.
Mir tries for a takedown but Overeem manages to get underhooks.
Mir blocks an elbow strike from Overeem .
Overeem comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Overeem lands an elbow just above Mir 's eye.
Overeem holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Overeem lands an elbow that stopped Mir in his tracks for a moment.
That has opened up Frank Mir's cut even more.
Overeem lands a vicious elbow to the side of Mir's head that scrambles his senses and sends him wobbling down to the canvas! Overeem tries to finish him with strikes but Mir still seems able to defend himself so Overeem steps back and lets Mir get back to his feet - he wants no part of the ground game.
Mir is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Overeem is looking to clinch but Mir is avoiding it.
Mir is still on wobbly legs! Can Overeem finish him?
Overeem clinches.
Overeem lands a damaging elbow.
The cut above Frank Mir's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Overeem lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Clinched against the cage, Overeem lands a big elbow that drops Mir! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Mir is complaining that he's OK but he was done.
