Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marco Rudirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Georges Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rudirez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Going to Brazil - Motorhead. Hughes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. A Country Boy Can Survive kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Marco Rudirez could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Georges Hughes's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hughes throws a jab but it's blocked by Rudirez.
Hughes misses with a few strikes there.
Hughes checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Rudirez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Rudirez fails with a takedown attempt.
Rudirez looks to land a body kick but Hughes moved away.
Hughes punishes Rudirez's body with a nice straight punch.
Hughes connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Hughes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rudirez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hughes lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Hughes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Rudirez misses with a head kick.

Rudirez tries to keep at a distance but Hughes has taken the fight into the clinch.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Rudirez just misses with a elbow thrown towards Hughes's brow.

Hughes has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Rudirez is trying to keep an underhook but Hughes manages to get the takedown into half guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rudirez is on top in guard.

Rudirez is trying to ground and pound but Hughes uses the momentary lack of control by Rudirez to regain half guard.
Hughes is trying to stand up here but Rudirez is controlling him well.

Hughes has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rudirez is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hughes is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Hughes is not content to let Rudirez control the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Hughes closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rudirez circles away.

Rudirez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hughes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Rudirez trying to control the position but Hughes is working away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rudirez works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Rudirez creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hughes sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Rudirez is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hughes looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rudirez gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hughes is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rudirez lets go of the hold and Hughes can pop his arm back in it's socket.
