The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter tries to clinch but Lesnar moves out of range.
Lesnar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lesnar takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lesnar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lesnar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Carter is trying to defend but Lesnar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lesnar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carter keeps working.

Lesnar throws a strike but Carter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lesnar is on top in guard.
Carter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lesnar wants to get up but he can't break Carter's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nick Carter wasn't active enough on the ground.

Lesnar shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lesnar showed some decent athleticism there.

Lesnar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Brock Lesnar just wasn't active enough.
Lesnar shoots for a takedown but Carter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Lesnar looks to land a combination but Carter avoids it well.
Carter lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Carter.
Carter dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Carter pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Lesnar back to the cage. Carter follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Carter uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

It looks like Brock Lesnar has been cut.

Carter drops Lesnar with a left right combo! Carter follows him down to the ground into side control.

Lesnar is rocked!
Lesnar is breathing heavily.
Carter is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lesnar's shoulder. That is not cool.
Oh Lesnar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Carter passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Lesnar!
Carter content just to control the position here.
Lesnar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lesnar tries to get out of the position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Carter wants to control but Lesnar is keeping busy.

Lesnar gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Carter gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
