The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva lands a jab to the nose.
Azevedo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Silva scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Azevedo shoots in and drives through. Silva sprawls well.
Azevedo takes one on the button.
Silva swats away the attempt to clinch by Azevedo.
Azevedo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
Silva circles away from the clinch attempt.

Azevedo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Silva dodges the ground and pound from Azevedo.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is looking to regain half guard here but Azevedo keeps moving and retains side control.
Silva stops Azevedo from passing to mount.
Silva tries to bench press Azevedo off him but Azevedo keeps the position.

Azevedo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Azevedo looks gassed!

Silva tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Azevedo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Azevedo misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Patrick Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Azevedo.
Silva throws a series of strikes that have Azevedo backpedaling.
Azevedo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
Ricardo Azevedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jab, jab by Silva - just one landing.
Silva is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Azevedo tries to clinch up.
Silva stalks Azevedo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Azevedo's face. Azevedo staggers backwards, shaken.
Silva lands a jab to Azevedo's midsection.
Silva throws a one two combo.

Silva scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Azevedo actively working from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silva is working for a kimura but Azevedo is defending it quite comfortably.
Silva passes to full mount!

Silva is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Azevedo can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Silva lands a big shot there that rocks Azevedo but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Azevedo is trying to escape the mount.

Silva is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Azevedo is surviving well by controlling Silva's body position as best he can.

Silva swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
