Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Achilles Spartacus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Major Lobon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Achilles Spartacus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Major Lobon!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lobon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lobon tries to land a front kick but Spartacus steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Spartacus looks to clinch
and Lobon decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Spartacus's guard.
Spartacus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Spartacus trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Lobon slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lobon stops Spartacus from standing up.
Lobon seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Major Lobon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Spartacus tries to clinch
and Lobon counters by clinching up.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Spartacus is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lobon pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Spartacus is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Lobon is keeping busy.
Lobon drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Spartacus gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Spartacus tries to score a body lock takedown but Lobon shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Spartacus prevents Lobon from breaking the clinch.
Spartacus decides to pull guard.
Lobon wants to pass the guard but Spartacus is keeping the position.
Spartacus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lobon is controlling him.

Let's hope that Lobon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Lobon stands and steps away. Spartacus gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Spartacus drives through and clinches with Lobon against the cage.

Lobon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Spartacus tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lobon smiles and moves away.

Spartacus looks to clinch
and Lobon counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lobon.
Spartacus unloads a knee to the mid-section. Lobon lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Spartacus is trying to pull guard but Lobon turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Spartacus fails to pull the fight into his guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A nice left hand lands by Lobon.
Spartacus decides to pull guard.
Lobon stands up and waves to Spartacus to follow him.
Achilles Spartacus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spartacus is breathing heavily.
Spartacus tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Lobon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Spartacus closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lobon counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Spartacus!
Lobon lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Spartacus squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Lobon is working for a guillotine from mount but Spartacus frees his head quite easily.
Lobon fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Spartacus really wants to buck Lobon off and get back to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lobon is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Spartacus can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Lobon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Spartacus's face.

Lobon lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's time! Spartacus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Spartacus tries to clinch there but Lobon circles away.
Lobon shoots in and drives through. Spartacus sprawls well.
Lobon has taken the fight to the clinch.
Spartacus fails to pull guard.
Lobon has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Spartacus regains guard immediately.
Lobon prevents Spartacus from getting back to his feet.
Lobon decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Lobon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lobon drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lobon content to stall in guard here.

Lobon prevents Spartacus from getting back to his feet.
Lobon advances to half guard.
Spartacus wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lobon looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Spartacus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Spartacus pushes Lobon off but Lobon dives into side control.
Lobon content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Spartacus avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lobon.
Spartacus parries the strikes from Lobon easily there. Lobon is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Spartacus to escape.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Spartacus wants to get back to his feet but Lobon drags him back down.

A lull in the action here.
Lobon is putting a hurting on Spartacus here, landing some big shots from side control.
Lobon happy to just control the position for now.
Lobon wants to control but Spartacus is keeping him busy.
Major Lobon has got the better of the ground game so far.
Lobon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Spartacus pushes Lobon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Lobon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Lobon is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Spartacus's shoulder. That is not cool.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Major Lobon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Lobon shoots for a takedown but Spartacus saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Spartacus tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lobon swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Lobon counters with a shoot takedown. Spartacus fights it but they end up in guard.
Lobon wants to control from the top but Spartacus keeps moving.
Spartacus is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lobon is controlling him.
Lobon stands up from Spartacus's guard - Lobon perhaps looking for a knockout.
Horrible takedown by Lobon or perhaps it was just good defense by Spartacus which made him look bad.

The referee is keeping an eye on Spartacus - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Lobon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Spartacus is defending well.
Achilles Spartacus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Major Lobon.
Lobon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lobon gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Lobon prevents Spartacus from standing back up.
Spartacus kicks off Lobon and gets to his feet.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lobon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Spartacus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Spartacus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spartacus tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Achilles Spartacus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Major Lobon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
