Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Ash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Brecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brecht has chosen Dropkick Murphys - Warriors Code as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Patrick Brecht is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Ash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Patrick Brecht! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ash is looking to clinch. Brecht misses with a two punch combination.
Ash tries to clinch there but Brecht circles away.

Ash tries to clinch but Brecht is having none of it. Ash moves in looking to clinch but Brecht pushes him off. Brecht changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ash tries to avoid it but Brecht manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ash to the ground. Ash escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ash wants to clinch. Ash tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brecht swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ash takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Ash is looking to clinch. Brecht looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ash tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ash tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brecht swats him away and circles back towards the center. A head kick misses from Brecht. Ash tries to clinch there but Brecht circles away.

Brecht tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ash tries to clinch but fails miserably and Brecht counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Brecht is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Brecht is looking to advance position but Ash won't allow it. Ash knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brecht on the ground. Brecht controlling the pace. Brecht decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ash clinches but Brecht breaks the clinch and Brecht counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ash's guard now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Brecht would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Ash wants to stand up but Brecht is controlling him. Ash keeping full guard, as Brecht tries to pass. Brecht slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Brecht stands up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ash closes the distance and clinches. Brecht tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ash smiles and moves away.
Daniel Ash has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Brecht. Brecht throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Ash wants to clinch and Brecht counters with a good low kick that Ash was not able to check. Ash is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ash tries to clinch up and Brecht counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Brecht. Brecht trying to control the position from guard on top but Ash is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brecht looks gassed! Brecht thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Brecht would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ash wants to clinch but Brecht slips to the side and Brecht counters with a takedown into side control. Brecht trying to control the position but Ash is working away. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Brecht thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ash is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Brecht is controlling him well. Brecht has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Ash! Ash is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Brecht throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Ash because Brecht loaded up on that one. Brecht is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ash is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Ash tries to buck Brecht off but Brecht takes his back! Brecht misses with a punch to the head. Ash is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Brecht is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Ash defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Ash staying busy and making it hard for Brecht to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Brecht missing with strikes. Ash is trying to stand back up. Patrick Brecht has got the better of the ground game so far. Ash covering up well under a series of strikes from Brecht.

Ash holding both Brecht 's hands and preventing any damage. Brecht looking for the RNC. Ash is trying to get back to his feet but Brecht has full control of the position and if anything, Ash has just worked his way into a worse spot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ash defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Ash is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Brecht gets his way!

Patrick Brecht showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Ash manages to get full guard. Brecht looking to pass the guard. Brecht with a nice head shot there. Ash is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Brecht trying to control the position from guard on top but Ash is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Brecht takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ash tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Brecht counters with a series of strikes. Ash will be more careful next time no doubt. Ash wants to clinch up but Brecht keeps it at a distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ash closes the distance but Brecht moves to the side so Brecht counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Ash utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ash keeping full guard, as Brecht tries to pass. Ash is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Brecht trying to control but Ash is working from the bottom.

Still in half guard, Brecht seems content to control. Brecht is trying to control the action in half guard but Ash is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Brecht is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Ash has managed to free his arm - good work. Brecht is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
And that's the end of the fight! Patrick Brecht comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Brecht winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
