Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oscar Kline! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Baha Beison! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Beison shoots in but Kline avoids the takedown attempt easily. Beison misses with a takedown attempt - Kline sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kline clinches with his opponent.
Beison tries for a takedown but Kline manages to get underhooks.
Oscar Kline has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Baha Beison. Kline lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
It looks like Baha Beison has been cut. Kline breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Beison misses with a takedown and Kline counters with a nice leg kick. Beison is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kline keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Baha Beison seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kline avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Beison throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kline. Beison tries to clinch and Beison takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Beison misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Beison is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kline sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Beison shoots in for a double leg but Kline sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. A punch combination from Beison misses. Kline clinches with his opponent.
Beison is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Kline pulls him back up using the underhooks. Beison is trying to drag Kline to the mat but Kline just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Beison drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kline pulls his leg out and moves away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Beison throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Kline shoots in and bounces Beison off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Beison looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Beison is looking to stand up but Kline isn't so interested in that idea. Beison looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kline controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kline has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Beison to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kline is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Beison pulls down on the head and he's put Kline to sleep! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Baha Beison!
