Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Anders Bergh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bad Religion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bergh comes to the cage accompanied by Vision of disorder, living to die. Bad Religion acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Anders Bergh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bad Religion!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bergh shoots in and gets a takedown into Religion's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Religion is looking to stand up but Bergh isn't so interested in that idea.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Religion is on top in guard.

Religion drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Religion jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Bergh trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Religion drops back looking for a leg! Bergh is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bergh manages to kick Religion off! Religion jumps back into Bergh's guard.

Bergh will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Bergh working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Religion doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Religion manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Religion is looking to work some ground and pound but Bergh has wrist control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Anders Bergh will probably get the nod.

Religion tries to clinch up

and Bergh counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Bergh.
Religion has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Bergh after a bit of a struggle.
Bergh landing knees to the body.
Bergh unloads a knee to the mid-section. Religion lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Religion can't get the takedown.

Bergh is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Anders Bergh overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bergh prevents Religion from getting back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bergh drops back, looking for a kneebar! Religion looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Religion looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Religion!

Bergh is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Religion defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Bergh escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Religion gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Religion is sitting in close to Bergh's body. Bergh has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Religion is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Religion is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Bergh.
