Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robo Cop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robo Cop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Cross! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, John Roberts and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cross tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cop sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cross somewhat. Cross fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Cross fails with a takedown attempt. Robo Cop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Cross. Cop moves into range and clinches up with Cross. Cop escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Cop gets in close and instigates a clinch. Cross looking for a takedown. Cross prevents Cop from breaking the clinch. Cop tries to break the clinch but Cross is controlling the position. Cop ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Cop no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Cross thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Cop bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cross's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cop is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cop avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cross is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Cop engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Cross looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cop is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cop trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Cop stands up and waves to Cross to follow him. Cross misses with a takedown attempt - Cop sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Cop really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Cross looks winded! Nice body punch from Cop. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cop has closed the distance and engaged Cross in a clinch.
Cross drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Cop gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Cop has picked Cross up - he's going for a ride! Cop dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Cop stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Cop wants to free his trapped foot but Cross is holding on for dear life with his legs. Cop slows the pace down in half guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Robo Cop just wasn't active enough. Cop moves into range and clinches up with Cross.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cop is trying to trip Cross. He has hold of a leg but Cross is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Cop persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Cop controls from within his opponent's guard. Cross tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cop wants to stand but Cross is controlling his posture from full guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Cop trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Robo Cop wasn't doing enough on the ground. Cop gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robo Cop dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Cop fails with a takedown attempt. Cross shoots in and drives through. Cop sprawls well. Cross shoots in but no luck this time. Robo Cop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cop throws a right hand that Cross ducks under and follows up with a left that Cross also avoids with ease. Cross walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Cop rushes Cross and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Cop has Cross pressed against the cage.

Robo Cop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Cross. Cop wants to get back to striking at distance but Cross won't allow it.
Cross is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Cop gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Cross is breathing heavily. Cop wants to break the clinch but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cop has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Cross uses from the top position. Cross loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Cop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cross on the ground. Cop is looking to stand up but Cross isn't so interested in that idea. Cop is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Cop manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cross manages to get himself to full guard.
Cop with a flurry of punches that miss. Cross looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Cop stands up from Cross's guard - Cop perhaps looking for a knockout. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cop. Cop lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cop looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Cop throws a right and a left that both miss. Cop moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Cop moves into the clinch. Cop gets underhooks to prevent Cross's takedown attempt.

Cross advances position into side control! Cross looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cop gets back to half guard. Cross wants to pass the guard but Cop is defending well. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Cop slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Cross stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cop swivels though and keeps the full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cross stopping the sweep attempt from Cop. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Robo Cop dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Cross shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cop as he avoids it easily. Cop stalks Cross and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Cross's face. Cross staggers backwards, shaken. Cop stuffs the takedown. Cop connects with a body shot that sends Cross's belly button to the back. Cop's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Cop duly obliges. Cop rushes Cross and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Cross has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Cop avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Robo Cop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Cross. Cop tries to circle away but Cross has him pinned against the cage. Cop tightens his grip and picks Cross up, before dumping him to the ground. Cross manages to land in guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Cop throws a big right hand that misses. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Cop not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cross manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Cop wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cross.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross looking to ground and pound but Cop is blocking nicely. Cop tries to get back to half guard but can't. Cop holds on, trying desperately to control. Cross has control of Cop's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Cop regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Cross sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Cross is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent. Cop is looking to get to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cross punching from mount but Cop doing a good job of avoiding damage. Cop is looking to get to half guard. Cross wants to control the pace but Cop is squirming around nicely. Mark Cross has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cross is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Cop to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Cop shrugs it off. Cross jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Cop is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Cop and Cross has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Robo Cop overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cross throws an elbow but Cop slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cop gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Cop is controlling Cross's position as best he can from this difficult position. Cross is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cop has managed to free his arm - good work. Robo Cop is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Cross is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cop sees it coming and defends easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Robo Cop showed his dominance in that final round. Well Cop has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
