The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin fails with the takedown
and Borg counters with a left and a right that stings Putin.
Borg attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Wladimir Putin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Borg catches Putin with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Borg defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Putin.
Putin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Borg.
Horrible takedown by Putin or perhaps it was just good defense by Borg which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wladimir Putin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Borg shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Putin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Borg throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Putin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Borg really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Putin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Putin is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Borg rolls with it to try and escape but Putin cranks on the arm and Borg is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
