Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rory Lyons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Fybra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fybra comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Crippled Black Phoenix - Born In a Hurricane kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fybra has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Lyons.
Fybra tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Lyons is able to avoid easily.
Lyons dives in and grabs Fybra's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fybra pushes down on Lyons's head and hops out.
Lyons throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lyons fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fybra, pushing him back against the cage.
Fybra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rory Lyons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fybra tried to score with a low kick but Lyons checks it.

A nice right hand lands inside from Fybra.
Fybra using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Lyons has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Lyons throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Fybra works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Lyons has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lyons looking to sit in guard and control but Fybra gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lyons escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fybra gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nice uppercut lands for Fybra. That snapped Lyons's head back.
Fybra uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lyons.

Lyons tries for a takedown but Fybra sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Lyons has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lyons there as he acknowledges the shot.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd cheers as Fybra lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lyons doesn't seem phased though.

Lyons shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fybra but Fybra pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fybra leaves Lyons with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lyons sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lyons is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fybra pulls his head out easily.
Lyons is looking for a sweep. Fybra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lyons is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Fybra's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Fybra's back!
