The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hawking moves out of range as Kane throws a body kick.
Kane looks to land a combination but Hawking avoids it well. Sloppy strikes from Kane. Those never looked like landing. Kane fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hawking to the ground. Kane is now in Hawking's guard. Kane is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Let's hope that Kane has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Kane advances to half guard. Kane is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hawking doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kane. Kane has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hawking defend it? Kane steps over the head and cranks it - Hawking is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Kane!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Bob Kane!
