Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Amun Ra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Steven de Pina! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ra misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A shot to the liver by de Pina. Beautiful body shot. de Pina takes a swing at Ra's ribcage but misses. de Pina fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ra manages to avoid it. de Pina feints a jab promting Ra to slip. de Pina then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ra slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. de Pina misses the jab. Donk. Ra catches de Pina right on the button with a cross. de Pina lands a body shot.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ra closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. de Pina did well to prevent Ra getting side control. de Pina keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Ra throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Ra is taking a breather. de Pina says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ra is stalling here. de Pina is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ra seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and de Pina has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. de Pina really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ra. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ra regains half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Ra manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ra is in close to de Pina's body, working some short punches and elbows. Ra wants to control from the top but de Pina keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ra stops de Pina from standing up. de Pina is looking to stand back up but Ra counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by de Pina. Ra has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ra lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Ra looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ra lands a nice short elbow. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ra throwing shots but de Pina is blocking nicely. Ra thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ra missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Ra is controlling the pace.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if de Pina can do anything to dispel that myth. Ra seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down de Pina for as long as he can get away with. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ra connects with a nice short shot to de Pina's temple. Ra winds up and cracks de Pina with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ra lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt de Pina quite badly. de Pina pulls Ra in close trying to recover. Ra postures up and lands two really hard shots that put de Pina on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but de Pina doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
