The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez dodges the punch combination from Maddox.
Maddox clinches with his opponent.
Maddox wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Cortez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Maddox tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Cortez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Maddox after a bit of a struggle.
Cortez is pressed up against the cage. Maddox has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Cortez down to the mat. Cortez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Cortez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Maddox sprawls well. Maddox wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cortez gets slowly back to his feet.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Maddox enables Cortez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Maddox manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Maddox is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cortez is controlling him.
Maddox controls Cortez momentarily but Cortez frees himself.
Maddox is looking to stand up but Cortez isn't so interested in that idea.

Maddox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Cortez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Maddox somewhat.

Cortez is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Maddox 's hooks.
Maddox has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Cortez's face.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ken Maddox.
I think Maddox has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
